Tillman enters the 2025-26 season after spending the past two seasons as an assistant coach in a similar role at Meridian Community College, where he helped Privilege Chikara to a 2024 NJCAA Women's Indoor National Championship in the 800m and a seven second personal records. He also saw Nhamoinesu Mabvuka finish third in the 2025 NJCAA Women's Outdoor 5,000-meter.
"I am thrilled and humbled to be the next coach to help lead the cross country teams and distance group at UTSA," Tillman said. "I view it as an honor to work with Coach Fox and I'm thankful for the opportunity to team up with the A-list staff assembled here. The level of excellence that UTSA student-athletes operate with is high and I'm looking forward to getting to know our squad and getting to work. Most importantly, I am thankful to God for giving me the strength and passion on a daily basis for the great things ahead. I'm excited to get this cross country season kicked off and start preparing our athletes for competition."
