PROHIBITED ITEMS

 

UTSA Athletics is committed to maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all fans, staff, student-athletes, and coaches. This prohibited item list is non-exhaustive, and subject to change. Should you have any questions regarding prohibited items, especially those not included below, please reach out to UTSA Athletics in advance of your attendance at our event. 

This list is in effect for all UTSA Athletics on-campus facilities. For a list of prohibited items at the Alamodome, click here

UTSA Athletics reserves the right to prohibit any item deemed dangerous or unsuitable.

Prohibited Items

Animals (with the exception of service animals)
•    UTSA Athletics operates under the same rules and regulations as the UTSA campus. Only service animals are permitted to enter UTSA Athletics facilities. Any other type of animal, including an emotional support animal, is not permitted.
•    The service animal must be under the handler’s control at all times. The service animal should generally be leashed, harnessed, or tethered.
•    The service animal must be vaccinated and appropriately registered and licensed per local animal control and public health requirements.


Artificial noisemakers (bells, horns, kazoos, whistles, etc.) with the exception of women’s soccer home contests. These items can cause distractions for participants and officials in the game.


Non-clear bags and clear bags larger than 12" x 6" x 12" (See Clear Bag Policy). Medically necessary and diaper bags are permitted but are subject to search upon entry.

Brooms, banners, flag poles, signs larger than a poster board (signs including language that violates UTSA’s speech and expression policies will not be permitted), frisbees, balloons, projectiles, laser pointers, etc. The items could trigger security systems and emergency response from authorities. 
•    Attendees may bring items such as flags, balloons, and umbrellas at outdoor events only. Fans must avoid use of such items in a manner that disrupts the event or impedes the view of other fans.


Professional cameras, cameras with interchangeable lenses, or any camera with a fixed lens six inches (6”) or larger. Additionally, camera bags are not permitted. Flash photography is not permitted. 


Video cameras/recording devices (including GoPro devices & drones), tripods, monopods, and selfie sticks.
•    The sale of images of current student-athletes is against NCAA rules and risks the eligibility of UTSA student-athletes. Additionally, any commercial use of photos of UTSA facilities, campus landmarks, or identifiable campus elements (including the UTSA name, seal, logo, or the Roadrunner mascot) is prohibited without the prior written approval of the University.


Hard coolers, ice chests, thermoses. 


Skateboards, hover boards, bicycles, and scooters are not permitted inside facilities. Attendees may utilize bike racks outside facilities prior to entering any events. 


Explosive and flammable materials, disabling chemicals and other dangerous items. 


Outside food, with the exception of food/snacks needed for medical purposes. 


Outside drinks with the exception of one sealed (soft plastic) bottle of water (up to one liter). No other outside beverages or beverage containers are permitted (including Yeti or similar products). UTSA Athletics events offer water fountains for guests to refill. Should a guest need water or hydration support, our UTSA Athletics event staff can assist you. 


Outside alcohol is strictly prohibited at all UTSA athletic events. 
•    Many UTSA Athletics events offer the sale of alcohol. The service or sale of alcohol to minors is prohibited by law. All guests that purchase alcohol will be required to show ID every time.
Strollers, wagons, or other alike items will be asked to remain in a secure location once a guest arrives at a UTSA Athletics Event. 

Use of tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and smokeless cigarettes/tobacco.
•    UTSA became a tobacco-free campus June 1, 2014. The use of any tobacco products -- including e-cigarettes and smokeless cigarettes/tobacco -- is prohibited in university buildings and on university grounds within the state of Texas, including parking areas and structures, sidewalks, walkways, and university-owned buildings.

Weapons of any kind (e.g., fireworks, firearms, knives).
•    The Campus Carry law (S.B. 11) does not pertain to sporting events on campus. No weapons of any kind are permitted in UTSA Athletics sporting events. For full details on Campus Carry, click here

UTSA Athletics welcomes any of the following permitted items at our events:

•    Nonprofessional and/or personal cameras (cameras without interchangeable lenses)
•    Phone chargers and small battery packs (wallet size and below)
•    Sunscreen or other alike sun protection liquids
•    Bug repellant 
•    Seat cushions, seat backs, and folded lawn chairs 
•    Binoculars (cases are not permitted due to the clear bag policy)
•    Blankets & Towels
•    Gloves and “mitts” (Baseball & Softball Events)
•    Personal tent setups (no larger than 10’ x 10’) in open green spaces are allowed and must be secured, however the driving of stakes for any tent setup is prohibited (to avoid electrical and water lines). 
•    UTSA branded and non-logoed tents are permissible however, other school logoed tents are prohibited
