Cameron Miles quickly climbed the ladder at UTSA and will enter the 2025-26 season as Associate Head Coach following four successful seasons on the staff. He came on as an Assistant Coach in 2021 and received a promotion to Coordinator of Scouting in 2024, before being elevated to his current role.
With Miles' help, the team reached new heights in 2024-25, as a 26-4 mark represented the best in program history, and a 17-1 league record earned the team the American Athletic Conference Regular Season Championship, landing them in the Women's Basketball Invitational Tournament.
In 2023-24, the Roadrunners went 18-15, making the Women's National Invitational Tournament for the squad's first national postseason berth since the 2008-09 season.
Working primarily with the post players, Miles has mentored several standout performers, including 2022-23 Conference USA Player and Newcomer of the Year and 2024-25 American Athletic Conference Player of the Year Jordyn Jenkins. In addition to Jenkins, he helped Elyssa Coleman to CUSA All-Defensive honors in 2022-23 and saw Idara Udo crack The American All-Conference Second Team in 2024-25.
Miles came to the Alamo City after spending the last two seasons at the College of Charleston in the same position.
Prior to working with the Cougars, Miles spent the 2016-19 seasons at Lamar where he served as the director of operations before being promoted to assistant coach in April of 2018.
With the Cardinals, Miles helped establish one of the most successful women's basketball programs in the Southland Conference. In the 2018-19 season, Lamar posted a 24-7 overall record, won the regular-season title and made its second-straight Women's NIT appearance. Miles was part of a staff that led the Cardinals to national postseason tournaments for three consecutive seasons.
Miles comes from a family of basketball players, with his brother, C.J., playing 16 seasons in the NBA, while his sister, Ashlan, played at Lamar and his other sister Andrea, at Rogers State.
The Dallas, Texas, native played for four years at the University of San Diego where he netted a career-high 15 points against San Francisco and made an appearance in 114 games.
Miles played high school basketball at Dallas Skyline High School, earning all-state honors as a senior after averaging 15.5 points, 3.8 rebounds and 8.0 assists per game.
He also served on the coaching staff of Heroes Elite, an AAU team in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex.
Miles earned a degree in ethnic studies from USD.
