Roadrunners fall to Tulane

SAN ANTONIO — Roadrunners fall 5-3 to Tulane in the second game of the three-game series on Friday, Apr. 18 at Roadrunner Field in San Antonio, Texas.

THE BASICS:
Score: UTSA 3, Tulane 5
Records: UTSA (29-10) (11-3), Tulane 24-16 (8-6)
Location: Roadrunner Field
Win: Taylor Montiel (4-0) | Loss: Braylon Owens (5-2)

In the bottom of the first, Norris McClure got the first UTSA hit of the day on a double to shallow right field. James Taussig followed that double up with one of his own, scoring McClure and putting UTSA up 1-0.

In the fourth, Tulane tied it up on an RBI single. They then took the lead in the top of the fifth, scoring on a sacrifice fly, an RBI double and an RBI single.

Broc Parmer answered in the bottom of the fifth by leading the inning off with his first homer of the year over the center field wall. Diego Diaz singled after the homer and was able to reach second on a wild pitch. Mason Lytle drove in Diaz on a single through the right side to make the game 4-3 in favor of Tulane.

In the sixth, Tulane added its fifth and final run of the game on a sacrifice hit. Both teams went scoreless in the final three innings of the game.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- McClure picked up his sixth three-hit game of the season, recording two singles and one double.
- Relief pitcher Robert Orloski tied his season-long of 4.2 innings pitched.
