Support UTSA's Name, Image and Likeness Efforts

Runners United is a comprehensive NIL (Name, Image and Likeness) initiative designed to benefit student-athletes across all UTSA sports programs. This groundbreaking program brings together three key collectives – City Fans 210, 210 Inspired and Runners Rising – to create a community-focused, sustainable approach to NIL. Runners United provides UTSA student-athletes with greater opportunities for NIL compensation. It will engage the San Antonio community and foster philanthropic support, all while solidifying UTSA’s role as an innovative leader in NIL strategies.

Collectives

UTSA’s collectives work with program supporters to raise money and provide NIL activities to student-athletes as part of Runners United. Click the links below to contribute to UTSA student-athletes through collectives.

"Our student-athletes and our supporters will all benefit from Runners United, a stronger, more unified approach to NIL. We are grateful to the three collectives for working collaboratively to support all UTSA student-athletes in the Name, Image and Likeness space."

What is NIL?

A Name, Image and Likeness (NIL) activity occurs when a student-athlete is being compensated for the use of his or her name, image and/or likeness. In partnership with Teamworks Influencer, resources are devoted to NIL programming so that UTSA student-athletes can have the best student-athlete experience possible.

Name, Image and Likeness activities include but are not limited to:

  • Endorsing a brand or company on social media
  • Hosting a camp or clinic
  • Attending a meet and greet at a local organization
  • Attending an autograph signing
  • Making an appearance at a child’s birthday party
  • Taking part in media appearances

Financial Aid

Financial Aid

Student-athletes’ compensation for NIL rights may affect their financial aid. UTSA offers a number of state and federal financial aid grants based on financial need. Student-athletes should seek tax assistance for any NIL compensation earned. Student-athletes should note that taxable compensation might include any tangible and intangible items given in exchange for use of the student-athlete’s name, image and likeness.
