Maggie Cartwright joins UTSA Volleyball staff

The Pro Volleyball Federation athlete will be on the sidelines for UTSA in 2024

SAN ANTONIO – Coach Carol Price Torok announced the newest member of the 2024 coaching staff on Thursday, as former Arkansas outside hitter and current Pro Volleyball Federation (PVF) Champion Maggie Cartwright joins the squad.

"We're incredibly excited to add someone of Maggie's caliber and stature to our team," said Price-Torok in the announcement. "Her experience at Arkansas and PVF will elevate the training our players get day-in and day-out, and we couldn't be more ecstatic to see how our outsides grow and develop under her tutelage."

Cartwright spent five stellar seasons at Arkansas, receiving American Volleyball Coaches Association All-Region and NCAA All-Tournament status while recording 1,276 total kills, the 12th-most in Razorback history. As a six-rotation player, she posted 909 digs, 303 blocks, and 108 aces, and in 2023, she helped Arkansas reach its first Elite Eight in school history. The Kimberly, Wisconsin native received a Bachelor of Science from Arkansas in 2023, a degree she received as a five-time captain for the Razorbacks.

She was drafted 22nd overall by the Omaha Supernovas in the inaugural PVF draft, seeing action in eight sets with 15 kills before claiming the league's first-ever title via a sweep over Grand Rapids Rise.

Cartwright also has extensive club coaching experience, spending five years with the Northwest Arkansas Junior Storm Volleyball Club and giving personalized 1-on-1 lessons in her spare time.
