UTSA to host Lone Star Invitational on Monday-Tuesday

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will host the eighth annual Lone Star Invitational on Monday-Tuesday, March 20-21, at Briggs Ranch Golf Club (par 72/7,247 yards). Admission is free.

The Roadrunners will compete against Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Illinois, Little Rock, Louisiana-Lafayette, McNeese State, Mississippi State, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oklahoma, Rice, Southeastern Louisiana, Texas State and UTEP.

The field will play 36 holes on Monday followed by the final round on Tuesday, and there will be an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start each day.

UTSA tied with Mississippi State for fifth place at last year's Lone Star Invitational with a 305-294-299—898. Brett Hogan led the Roadrunners with a 1-over-par 217 (74-72-71) to finish in sole possession of third place.

The Roadrunners are coming off a third-place finish at the Border Olympics on March 10-11 in Laredo, Texas. Zander Lozano registered his ninth career top-10 finish by tying for sixth with a 5-under-par 139 (71-68), while Adam House finished in a three-way tie for eighth with a 140 (71-69).
