Roadrunners wrap up fall season at Ka’anapali Collegiate Classic

LAHAINA, Hawai'i — Sean Meehan led UTSA to a 15th-place finish at the Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic, which wrapped up on Sunday at Ka'anapali Golf Club's Royal Ka'anapali Course (par 71/6,700 yards).

Meehan tied for 40th in the 132-player field to lead the Roadrunners in their final tournament of the fall season. The sophomore carded a 2-over-par 215 that was highlighted by a 5-under 66 on Saturday and capped by a 72 on Sunday. His final round featured his tournament-best third eagle of the weekend, a three on the par-5 sixth.

Bryce Alley was one shot behind Meehan after posting a 216 (72-73-71) to tie for 44th. The senior from Longview shot even par on Sunday on the strength of three birdies.

Zander Lozano turned in UTSA's best final round with a 1-under 70 that included five of his team-best 14 birdies. The junior from Fair Oaks Ranch tied for 72nd with a 7-over 220, as he bounced back from an 84 with a career-best-tying 66 on Saturday.

Adam House joined Lozano in the six-way tie for 72nd. The freshman from Rockwall registered a season-best-tying 71 on Sunday to close out his 220 (72-77-71).

Dylan Godfrey turned in a 72 on Sunday and finished in a tie for 113th with a 230 (80-78-72).

The Roadrunners carded an even-par 284 on Sunday and finished 15th with a 15-over 867 (301-282-284) in the 24-team field that featured eight nationally ranked teams.

No. 24 Clemson (826) rallied for a one-shot win ahead of No. 15 Georgia (827). No. 13 LSU was third (828), followed by seventh-ranked Oklahoma (834), No. 39 South Carolina (840), No. 37 Kansas (841), No. 33 North Florida (844), Georgia State (854), UC Santa Barbara (854) and Loyola-Marymount (857) in the top 10.

Doc Redman of Clemson captured the individual crown with a 15-under 198 (66-68-64).

The Roadrunners will return to action on Feb. 17-19 when they travel to Humble, Texas, for the All-American Intercollegiate.
