UTSA to close out fall season at Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic

SAN ANTONIO — The UTSA men's golf team will close out the fall season at this weekend's Ka'anapali Collegiate Classic in Lahaina, Hawaii. The three-day tournament is scheduled to tee off on Friday.

The Roadrunners will face players from Ball State, Boise State, Bowling Green, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Clemson, Georgia, Georgia State, Gonzaga, Hawai'i, Hawai'i-Hilo, Houston, Kansas, Long Beach State, Loyola-Marymount, LSU, Minnesota, UNC Wilmington, North Florida, Oklahoma, Sacramento State, South Carolina and UC Santa Barbara in the 24-team field. The teams will play 18 holes each day.

UTSA is coming off a runner-up showing at Price's "Give 'Em Five" Invitational last weekend in El Paso. Zander Lozano captured his second individual crown of the season with a school-record 202 (66-70-66) to lead the way, while Bryce Alley tied for fifth with a career-best-tying 209 (71-71-67) to help the Roadrunners to a 22-under-par 842 that was capped by a tournament-best 271 in the final round.

This will mark the program's second trip to Hawaii. The Roadrunners finished fifth with an 895 at the 2010 Kauai Collegiate Invitational in Lihue.
