Lindsey leads Roadrunners on final day of The Aggie Invitational

BRYAN — J.J. Lindsey fired a 73 to lead the UTSA men's golf team on the final day of The Aggie Invitational, which wrapped up on Sunday at Traditions Club (par 72/7,146 yards).

Lindsey's 1-over-par round was highlighted by four birdies, two on each side, and the senior from Adkins finished the 54-hole event with a team-high eight. He finished with a 227 (77-77-73) to tie for 43rd.

Bryce Alley was the next-highest Roadrunners, as the junior from Longview tied for 49th with a 229 (72-77-80).

Zander Lozano tied for 59th with a 232 (74-77-81), while Sean Meehan and Dylan Godfrey finished 77th (85-84-75—244) and 80th (0-80-77—157), respectively.

UTSA carded a 924 (308-311-305) to place 14th, 19 shots ahead of New Mexico State (943) and six behind Conference USA foe Charlotte (918).

No. 12 Oklahoma State claimed the team title with an even-par 864 (283-292-289). No. 18 LSU was second (866) and 23rd-ranked Arkansas took third (875) in a field that included a total of eight nationally-ranked teams.

Alvaro Ortiz of Arkansas and Kristoffer Ventura of Oklahoma State tied for individual medalist honors at 4-under 212.

The Roadrunners will return to the course on in three weeks when they travel to Texarkana, Ark., for the Conference USA Championship (April 24-27).
