Beginning her third season as UTSA women’s golf coach is Holly Tothe. The San Antonio native has developed the program as one of the up-and-comers program in the Southland Conference.

In their second season, the Roadrunners collected three top-five finishes (Wolf Pack Invitational, Ellingson Fall Classic and Baja Invitational).

In its inaugural season in 2006, UTSA placed third in its first-ever tournament at the Lady Cardinal Invitational, followed by a fourth-place showing at the Lady Indian Classic. The Roadrunners went on to finish sixth at the SLC Championship and freshman Laura Baker finished second and earned second-team All-SLC honors.
Tothe came to UTSA after spending two years in Singapore as a golf instructor for Transview PTE Ltd.

Playing under her maiden name of Holly Carriker, she was the 1994 Class5A State Champion while playing at San Antonio Churchill High School. A two-time San Antonio city champion and All-American while in high school, Tothe played at the University of Southern California from 1994-96. She transferred to the University of Texas where she finished her collegiate career from 1996-98.

After graduating from Texas with a bachelor’s in communications in 1998, Tothe played professionally on the Futures, Players West and Ladies Challenge Tours until 2000. She then worked as a golf instructor at the La Cantera Golf Academy in San Antonio alongside famed instructor Bryan Gathright.

In 2001-02, she was the assistant women’s coach at the University of Arizona, helping lead the Wildcats to the 2002 Pac-10 Conference Championship and a second-place finish at the NCAA Division I Championship.

In June 2002, she moved to Toronto, Canada, with her husband, Michael, to serve as a golf instructor. In 2003, she moved to Singapore to work for Transview. She is a Class A member of the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division.

Tothe’s family is highly involved in golf in the San Antonio community with her mother, Mary, serving as the Director of Amateur Golf for San Antonio. Along with Tothe’s father, Keith, the family hosts the Carriker Cup Tournament played each fall in San Antonio.
