SAN ANTONIO ? UTSA women’s golf coach Holly Tothe announced the signing of Shannon Jungman (Pflugerville, Texas/Hendrickson High School) for the 2008-09 season on Thursday.
“Shannon is going to a great Roadrunner for our program.” Tothe said. “She’s an accomplished competitor and brings a great deal of experience to our young team. I am very excited about the remainder of Shannon’s high school career, as she has lofty goals and her signing with UTSA is a great benefit to future recruiting.”
Jungman finished second at the 2007 4A Texas State High School Championship. The Pflugerville native began the finals with 79 but regrouped in the final round with a 69 to finish in second place. Jungman is a two-time USGA Public Links Championship participant and she also played at the 2007 Junior World Tournament. Jungman collected an individual title at the 2006 Trans-American Championship.
