Head UTSA Women's Basketball Coach Karen Aston named Angel Almaguer an Assistant Coach ahead of the 2024-25 season.

No stranger to UTSA, Almaguer has rapidly risen through the ranks, initially serving as a practice player for the 2021-22 season before roles as a student manager in 2022-23 and as a graduate assistant in 2023-24. He's helped the program reach new heights, as the 'Runners went 18-15 last season, collecting the program's most wins and the first national postseason berth since the 2008-09 campaign. The Roadrunners also picked up their inaugural postseason victory via an 80-62 routing of Northern Colorado in the Opening Round of the WNIT. Additionally, Almaguer graduated with a bachelor of kinesiology in exercise physiology in May of 2022 and recently received his master's degree from the university.
