IRVING, Texas – The American Conference will host its 2026 American Tipoff on Sunday and Monday, October 11–12, at the JW Marriott Tampa in Tampa, Florida, for both men’s and women’s basketball programs to officially usher in the upcoming season.
Representing UTSA men's basketball will be third-year head coach Austin Claunch, sophomore Dorian Hayes and senior Isaiah Watts. Representing UTSA women's basketball will be sixth-year head coach Karen Aston, senior Idara Udo and sophomore Adriana Robles.
Tampa will host the American’s signature preseason event for the first time, gathering all 26 head coaches and 52 student-athletes, representing 13 men’s and 13 women’s teams across the conference, for two days of media interviews and behind-the-scenes content creation.
Team rotations will begin at 12:00 p.m. CT on Sunday and will continue Monday morning, highlighted by a live broadcast on ESPN+. Hosted by Maria Trivelpiece, Mike O’Donnell and Brooke Weisbrod, the show will offer exclusive insights, feature interviews and season previews with head coaches and student-athletes from all 26 American basketball programs. Roadrunner fans can purchase men's and women's season tickets online or by calling the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-UTSA (8872) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.
Current UTSA students receive free admission to all home games by downloading tickets via their Account Manager.
