Five earn CSC Academic All-District honors

GREENWOOD, Ind.— On Tuesday, the College Sports Communicators officially released the 2026 Softball Academic All-District team, with UTSA placing five on the list in the form of juniors Meredith Schmitt and Taryn Madlock, as well as sophomores Sabrina Wick, Skylar Rucker and Reagan Stoudt.

Schmitt was chosen in back-to-back seasons after turning in a 3.84 GPA while studying business administration. She appeared in 17 games for the squad, starting three in the circle and tossing 21.2 innings.

Madlock, meanwhile, is majoring in medical humanities and has a 3.51 GPA. She belted a team-best 10 home runs, with 38 RBIs and an OPS of .965.

A first-team All-American Conference selection, Wick dominated on the field and in the classroom with a 3.95 GPA as a kinesiology major. She topped the squad with a .370 batting average, scoring 25 runs with 17 stolen bases.

Rucker logged a 3.83 GPA in psychology while holding a .409 on-base percentage thanks to 36 walks from the leadoff spot. The Fairview, Texas native, also swiped 14 stolen bases and started 56 games in left field.

Rounding out the group, Stoudt maintained a 3.73 mark, studying biology. She made 11 starts and saw action in 27 games, twirling 72.0 innings.
