The Roadrunners (11-11, 6-5 American) got the better of the Owls (10-12, 4-6 American) back in February, with senior Cheyenne Rowe leading the way to the tune of 13 points and 18 rebounds – the most of any squad member since Elyssa Coleman snagged 19 against Wichita State on Jan. 6, 2024. Joining Rowe in the double-digit scoring club, sophomore Damara Allen recorded 12, while senior Ereauna Hardaway and junior Mia Hammonds each logged 10.
UTSA is fresh off a 66-47 victory over Tulsa, in which the Roadrunners hauled in 16 more rebounds than the Golden Hurricane and shot 42% to the opposition's 32%. The Roadrunners also scored 16 more points in the painting and dished out nine more assists. Rowe logged 17 points and nine rebounds, and junior Idara Udo tallied a season-high 18 points.
The ‘Runners remain the league leaders in field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to 37.8%, and 16.5 fouls committed per game are the fewest in the American.
Temple will look to bounce back after a three-point loss at the hands of North Texas at the Liacouras Center. Tristan Taylor tops the conference in assists/turnover ratio at 2.05, and Kaylah Turner’s 17.4 points per game also paces the American. Taylor joins Turner as one of four averaging double-digit points at 11.2, just ahead of Saniyah Craig and Jaleesa Molina, who each log 10.3. Craig snags 8.0 rebounds per game to lead the team, while Turner has swiped 36 steals on the season and Molina has swatted 14 shots.
