UTSA to take on Tulsa

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team is set to visit Tulsa for an American Conference bout on Saturday, with a 2 p.m. tipoff at the Reynolds Center.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, and Neal Raphael will deliver all the action on the radio in the greater San Antonio area on The Bull 93.3 FM and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app. Live stats for the contest can be found at goUTSA.com/wbbstats.

The Roadrunners (10-11, 5-5 American) will look to avoid a three-game skid after falling to Rice and UAB in their last two contests.

Most recently, the ‘Runners lost to the Blazers, 81-69, in an effort that saw senior Ereauna Hardaway, classmate Cheyenne Rowe and junior Idara Udo all score in double-digits.  Hardaway charted 17 to go with five assists and two steals, while Rowe scored 16 with seven rebounds. Udo scored 12, and sophomore Mia Hammonds blocked two three shots and swiped two steals on the defensive end.

The Golden Hurricane (17-7, 9-2 American) enters the game sitting third in the American standings, and is half a game behind East Carolina for the second spot. Tulsa eyes a five-game winning streak after taking down North Texas, Florida Atlantic, Memphis, and Wichita State in its last four.

They’re one of the nation's best at getting to the charity stripe, with 16.2 free throws made per game, pacing the league and sitting 14th nationally.

Mady Cartwright has played a major role in their success, with 116 freebies sitting 10th across the NCAA, and Hanna Riddick is the conference leader in field goal percentage at 51.4%. Cartwright averages 15.8 points per game, and Riddick is not far behind at 15.4. Also averaging double-digits, Jade Clack manages 10.2. Riddick excels on the glass with a team-high 6.8 rebounds per game, and defensively, she’s swatted 18 shots.
