The surge that ran into late February saw the squad climb as high as No. 44 in the national standings. The Roadrunners finished the campaign at 19-5, reaching the second round of the American Conference Championships in Memphis before falling to top-seeded Florida Atlantic.

UTSA welcomes back Natalia Castaneda Guerrero, Milica Milosavljevic, Aoka Nagasawa and Valeria Sanchez with four players lost from last year’s roster. Joining the 2026 squad are Haifa, Israel freshman Celine Absawi, Sicilian freshman Giuliana Giardina, Picassent, Spain freshman Laia Tarazona Peyro and transfer sophomores Ayra Salim (Portland State, San Diego, Calif.) and Akari Tomoyose (Cowley College, Okinawa, Japan).

ABOUT THE BEARKATS

Sam Houston has yet to win a contest this campaign, with three Power Four opponents contributing to its 0-5 start. The Bearkats last squared off against the Roadrunners on Feb. 7, 2025, suffering a 4-0 defeat at the hands of UTSA in Huntsville, Texas. Last year’s squad finished 5-12 overall, falling to Jacksonville State in the first round of the CUSA Championship.

ABOUT THE AGGIES

A season ago, UTSA visited NM State in Las Cruces. The ‘Runners prevailed 6-1 in The Land of Enchantment on Jan. 18, 2025, earning their third straight victory to open last year’s campaign. The Aggies went on to finish 13-9, falling to top-seeded FIU in the second round of the 2025 CUSA Championship. NM State is out to a 1-3 start this spring, picking up its lone victory last weekend over Northern Arizona. Before taking on UTSA, the Aggies will clash with Texas State on Friday, Feb. 6, in San Marcos.

ABOUT THE CARDINALS
