SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team is headed for The Volunteer State, with a matchup on the docket Friday, at 4 p.m. against Memphis at the Elma Roane Field House.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with Greg Gaston (play-by-play) and Trey Draper (analyst) on the call. Neal Raphael will deliver all the action on the radio in the greater San Antonio area on The Bull 93.3 FM and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app.

The Roadrunners (9-8, 4-2 American) will look to bounce back against the Tigers (7-12, 1-5 American) after recently falling to East Carolina despite shooting 43% from the field to the oppositions 37%.

The sophomore duo of Mia Hammonds and Damara Allen each posted 12 points in the effort, with Hammonds also snagging six rebounds with a block and a steal. Senior Ereauna Hardaway dished out seven assists and, along with sophomore Emilia Dannebauer, charted eight points. Additionally, junior Jayda Holiman scored nine courtesy of three three-pointers.

Memphis will look to snap a three-game losing streak, last besting Florida Atlantic, 74-66, on Jan. 7. Despite the results, the Tigers remain one of the toughest defenses in the conference, ranking 35th nationally and first in the American with 11.3 steals per game.  They also pace the league in three-point percentage defense at 28.3% and are second in turnover margin at 3.68.

Three squad members post double-digit scoring averages, with Chae Harris logging 12.8 points per game, and Daejah Richmond not far behind at 12.4. Rounding out the trio, Tamya Smith charts 11.4, and she also tops the team with 20 blocks on the season and 5.3 rebounds per game. Richmond runs the offense to the tune of 63 assists, and she’s the team’s steal leader, swiping 49.
