KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the first time since 2022 and only the second time in program history, a pair of UTSA soccer players were named among the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region Team honorees, officials from the coaches association announced on Tuesday. Senior defender Kameron Kloza was named to the first team, while junior goalkeeper Jasmine Kessler was named to the third team.
Both players were integral in leading UTSA to its third conference title and NCAA postseason appearance. Kloza and Kessler are both fresh off receiving College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District accolades for their combined efforts on and off the pitch.
“Kam and Kessler earning United Soccer Coaches All-Region honors is a reflection of the championship standard our team lived every day this fall,” eighth-year UTSA head coach Derek Pittman said. “Kam’s consistency and competitive fire at the back elevated our entire group, and Kessler’s presence and reliability in goal were anchors in many of our team’s biggest moments. Their recognition is well-deserved, and it speaks to the work, belief and togetherness that defined this entire team’s championship season.”
Kloza (senior/defender/San Antonio, Texas) was selected to the all-region first team and was a 2025 team captain who served as a back-line anchor for the Roadrunners’ defense, which earned its place among the top two in the American Conference across the entire season. Kloza played 22 games with 17 starts and was the first-ever UTSA player selected to the American All-Conference First Team and the first all-conference first team player for UTSA since 2022. Kloza helped UTSA to the American’s No. 2 goals-against-average (0.90) at 60th in the NCAA rankings, also adding two assists and the game-winning-goal in the program’s first win over South Florida. Kloza was named American Defensive Player of the Week once and received American Honorable Mention twice during the season.
The last UTSA player to receive United Soccer Coaches All-South Region First Team laurels was Kloza’s sister, Kendall, at the conclusion of the Roadrunners’ last conference championship season in 2022. She is the second overall Roadrunner to earn a spot on this team.
With another dominant season between the pipes for the Roadrunners, Kessler (junior/goalkeeper/Spring, Texas) was named to the all-region third team, adding more accolades to her season that already include American Championships Most Outstanding Defensive Player, American All-Tournament Team and American All-Conference Second Team honors. After being named to the Preseason American Watch List, Kessler played in and started 22 games for UTSA – both single-season UTSA records. Kessler also set the UTSA career wins (22), draws (12) and shutout (16) records, along with tying the season wins mark and setting the season draws and keeper minutes marks with a 10-6-6 record on 1929:24 in goal. In addition, Kessler’s school record ledger now includes career goalkeeper starts (72), while tying for the season solo shutouts record (6). She finished the year ranked second in the American Conference in goals-against-average with an NCAA 78th-best 0.93 and an NCAA 58th-best .817 save percentage. She made 89 saves in the 2025 campaign, the seventh-most in UTSA history, moving to second in the UTSA career records at 187 stops. She was named American Goalkeeper of the Week once and received American weekly Honorable Mention twice.
