UTSA to conclude nonconference play against Columbia

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA women's basketball team will wrap up the nonconference slate on Saturday, with a noon central bout on the docket against Columbia at the Levien Gymnasium in New York, N.Y.

The game will be broadcast live on ESPN+ with Lance Medow (play-by-play) and Perri Kitei (analyst) on the call. Neal Raphael will deliver all the action on the radio in the greater San Antonio area on The Bull 93.3 FM and worldwide on the iHeartRadio app.

The Roadrunners (5-5, 0-0 American) are fresh off back-to-back 40-plus point victories over Prairie View A&M and Texas A&M-Kingsville. The ‘Runners first topped the Lady Panthers, 86-40, for the squad’s largest margin of victory against an NCAA Division I opponent since besting Nicholls by 53 on Jan. 14, 2008. Additionally, freshman Adriana Robles was named the American Freshman of the Week for her eight points, five assists and three rebounds against PVAMU.

UTSA then topped TAMUK, 82-40, with every Roadrunner who saw the floor logging points. Senior Ereauna Hardaway led the way with 15 points and tied her career-high with eight assists. Classmate Cheyenne Rowe and sophomore Mia Hammonds each charted 12, as Rowe collected seven boards and Hammonds six. Also performing well, sophomore Damara Allen posted 12 points, and sophomore Emillia Dannebauer logged a career-best nine.

The Lions (7-4, 0-0 Ivy) enter the weekend riding a three-game winning streak, defeating Manhattan, Wagner and Seton Hall along the way. Riley Weiss paces the team with 18.3 points per game at a 40.6% clip. Not afraid to shoot, Weiss ranks 14th across the NCAA with 180 field goal attempts on the season. Joining her in averaging double-digit points, Perri Page scores 13.5 and Susie Rafiu 11.8. Page is the squad leader with 6.7 rebounds per game and gets the job done on defense, swiping 28 steals.
