SAN ANTONIO – Six UTSA soccer student-athletes have earned a spot on the 2025 Academic All-District Women’s Soccer Teams, recognized by College Sports Communicators (CSC). With four second-time honorees and two first-timers, UTSA is represented by Jasmine Kessler, Kameron Kloza, Izzy Lane, Zoё May, Rylee Miller and Michelle Polo.
Earning her second consecutive Academic All-District honor, Kessler (junior/goalkeeper/Spring, Texas) just finished her third year as a force between the pipes for the Roadrunners, earning American Conference Championships Most Outstanding Defensive Player honors, being named American Championships All-Tournament Team and to the American All-Conference Second Team, after starting the season on the Preseason American Watch List. Kessler played in and started 22 games for UTSA – both single-season records. In 2025, she also set the UTSA career wins (22), draws (12) and shutout (16) records, along with tying the season wins standard, while setting the season draws and keeper minutes marks with a 10-6-6 record on 1929:24 in goal. For the season, Kessler finished the year ranked second in the American Conference in goals-against-average (0.93) and save percentage (.817). She made 89 saves in the 2025 campaign, the seventh-most in UTSA history, which brings her career total to 187 and second in the all-time standings. Off the pitch, she’s an Honors College Criminology & Criminal Justice and Psychology double major with a Spanish minor and was a nominee for the Allstate/NACDA Fall Good Works Team for her weekly work with local elementary students as part of the Rowdy Readers program. Kessler holds a 3.73 GPA and has two appearances on the American All-Academic Team, twice named to the UTSA Dean’s list and once to the President’s List, received the Individual Community Service Award and is a member of Alpha Phi Sigma criminal justice honors society.
A first-time award winner for Academic All-District, Kloza (senior/defender/San Antonio, Texas) is a team captain and was UTSA’s first All-Conference First Team honoree since 2022 and the first since joining the American Conference, as well as a member of the American Championships All-Tournament Team. She received American Defensive Player of the Week recognition once and was Honorable Mention twice as the back line centerpiece of a UTSA defense that was among the top two in the American all season and highly ranked at the national level. Kloza played 22 games and started 17 for the Roadrunners, logging four points with a goal and two assists on offense, while helping UTSA to an American second-best (NCAA 60th) 0.90 GAA. Her goal was a historic one, as the gamewinner in the program’s first win over South Florida. She’s twice been named to the American All-Academic Team and earned a spot on the UTSA Dean’s List two times as a Kinesiology Major holding a 3.81 GPA.
Another first-time Academic All-District honoree for the Roadrunners, Lane (senior/forward/London, England) finished her second and final season since transferring from Delaware with one goal and three assists, taking 23 shots with a 478 SOG percentage – registering the gamewinner against North Texas. Playing 1,495 minutes this season, she’s a Communication major with a 3.71 GPA, playing 22 games this season, starting 21. In total at UTSA, Lane played 33 games with 31 starts. Lane has been on the UTSA Dean’s List twice and Honor Roll once, set to graduate Cum Laude.
The other captain, May (senior/midfielder/Ottawa, Ontario) earns her second Academic All-District honor after starting 40 consecutive games for the Roadrunners following her transfer to UTSA ahead of the 2024 season. A member of the Preseason American Watch List and American All-Conference Third Team and American Championships All-Tournament Team, May led the Roadrunners with six goals, including the gamewinner against Lamar and another game-tying goal. She also registered two assists and led the team with 20 on-target shots, hitting .566 SOG in 1,832 minutes on the pitch. She received American weekly Honorable Mention three times this season. She has appeared on the American All-Academic Team three times and is slated for a fourth and Cum Laude graduation honors as a Kinesiology major focused in Exercise Physiology with a Psychology minor and a 3.69 GPA.
Another second-time honoree for Academic All-District, Miller (formerly Rylee Low/senior/defender/Midland, Texas) played in all 22 games with nine starts and 1,100 minutes on the pitch. Holding a 3.97 GPA and about to graduate with her degree in Medical Humanities with a Pre-Advanced Practice Provider concentration, Miller is team Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) representative in her second year, SAAC’s Social Media Co-Chair and the UTSA Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) leader. She’s set for her second appearance on the American All-Academic Team and has appeared on the UTSA President’s List twice and Dean’s List once, set to graduate Summa Cum Laude.
The final second-time honoree for Academic All-District, Polo (junior/midfielder/Magnolia, Texas) will graduate early and end her UTSA career but finished her final campaign with a bang. Polo played all 22 games and started nine for the Roadrunners, scoring five goals with three assists, 13 on-goal shots and a .433 SOG percentage. She scored four of those goals in the final six games, including back-to-back outings in the American Championships. She was on the American Preseason Watch List, is the SAAC Vice President, has two years as a SAAC representative and is a member of FCA leadership. Polo holds a 3.86 GPA in Nutrition and Health, has appeared twice on the American All-Academic Team and has been on the UTSA Dean’s List three times and Honor Roll once during her time as a Roadrunner. She will graduate at least Summa Cum Laude.
