2025 American Tipoff set for Oct. 12-13 in Birmingham, with fan engagement opportunities

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference will host its 2025 American Tipoff Sunday and Monday, October 12-13, at the Birmingham Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham, Alabama.

Representing UTSA men's basketball will be second-year head coach Austin Claunch, graduate student Mo Njie and sophomore Baboucarr Njie. Representing UTSA women's basketball will be fifth-year head coach Karen Aston, junior Idara Udo and senior Ereauna Hardaway.

The American is inviting fans to participate in the annual event to start the college basketball season.

Team rotations will begin at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday and will continue Monday morning with a show on ESPN+ hosted by Maria Trivelpiece, Mike O’Donnell and Brooke Weisbrod, featuring student-athletes and coaches from all 26 American teams in attendance. Live coverage of the 2025 Tipoff will start at 8:15 a.m. CT on Monday.

Fans will be able to experience the 2025 American Tipoff with unprecedented access to their favorite teams, coaches and student-athletes.

Roadrunner fans can purchase men's and women's season tickets online or by calling the UTSA Ticket Office at 210-458-UTSA (8872) from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Current UTSA students receive free admission to all home games by downloading tickets via their Account Manager.
