SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA Roadrunners are set to open their 2025 campaign at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 29, at the Convocation Center in San Antonio, Texas, taking on Stephen F. Austin in the first match of the UTSA Invitational. UTSA will then take on Texas State in the Battle of I-35 at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 30, at the Convocation Center.
Both games of the UTSA Invitational, in which the Roadrunners will be competing, will be broadcast on ESPN+, with Alex Loeb providing play-by-play commentary and Samantha Thomas serving as the analyst.
The Roadrunners closed out the 2024 season with an 11-18 record and a 7-8 record at home. UTSA welcomes back eight players from last year’s squad, including Isabella Arroyave, Caroline Krueger, Bailey Lechler, Miranda Putnicki, Caroline Tredwell, Ally Tribe, Peyton Turner and Makenna Wiepert. This year’s squad welcomes ten new faces, which include six freshmen, one redshirt freshman, and three transfers.
SFA went 24-9 in their 2024 season with an 8-3 road record. UTSA is 14-34 all-time against the LadyJacks, with SFA winning the last two matches played. The LadyJacks have won 13 of the 20 games played in the Convocation Center.
Texas State had a record of 22-9 in the 2024 season with a 7-7 road record. UTSA is 15-61 against the Bobcats, with Texas State winning the last five matches that these two teams played against each other. The Bobcats have won 25 of the 35 games played in San Antonio.
There will be one neutral site game played between Texas State and Stephen F. Austin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 30, at The Convo. Day one and day two sessions tickets can be purchased on Ticketmaster.
UTSA is 2-4 through the first two games of the season under head coach Carol.
