Hodge named AAC Player of the Week

SAN ANTONIO— Infielder Ty Hodge was named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week, the conference office announced at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Apr. 28. Hodge had an outstanding week as he recorded six hits, including two doubles and two home runs.

Hodge had a total of 12 RBIs, he recorded a slugging percentage of 1.077 on the week. Hodge played hero as he delivered the UTSA walk-off in the 6-5 win over Memphis. Hodge came up to bat with bases loaded and two outs in the 11th and hit the ball over the center fielder’s head, leading to the UTSA win.

The Roadrunners have now won six Player of the Week awards this year: Mason Lytle has won it twice, Hodge, Norris McClure, Drew Detlefsen and Andrew Stucky have all won it once. Braylon Owens is the only UTSA pitcher named Pitcher of the Week. Conor Myles, Caden Miller, Robert Orloski and Owens have all garnered honorable mentions.
