SAN ANTONIO — The Roadrunners sweep Memphis in walk-off fashion, winning 6-5 in eleven innings on Sunday, Apr. 27 at Roadrunner Field in San Antonio, Texas.

The Tigers took an early lead as they were able to score on a double steal with runners on first and third. They got their second run on an RBI single in the first. UTSA made it a one-run game as Mason Lytle reached on an error and was then brought home on a Norris McClure single.
The Roadrunners tied the game in the third as Andrew Stucky hit his sixth home run of the season to left field. In the fourth, the Tigers regained the lead on an RBI single. The lead didn’t last long as James Taussig led the fourth off with a solo home run to left center, his third in the last three games.
In the sixth, Memphis scored its fourth run of the game on a sacrifice fly. They were then able to increase their lead in the top of the eighth to 5-3 on a solo home run.
McClure singled through the right side to lead off the eighth before taking second on a wild pitch. Ty Hodge then singled to score McClure. With Hodge on first, Broc Parmer hit a triple down the right field line to tie the ball game at 5-5 heading into the ninth.
Connor Kelley was called upon to hold Memphis scoreless in the ninth, and he did just that. Kelley continued to dominate into the 10th and 11th innings as he threw three perfect innings, sitting down all nine batters he saw.
In the eleventh inning, Jordan Ballin drew a walk to be the first Roadrunner aboard, and he then stole second, just 180 feet away from home. Stucky drew another walk to put two runners on. McClure was hit by the pitch to load the bases. Hodge played hero for the ‘Runners as he forced a 3-2 count with two outs before blasting a ball over the center fielder’s head to score Ballin and to give UTSA the 6-5 win.
