SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA track and field teams will split ranks for the first time in the outdoor season, taking on the second and third meets of the schedule this week in the Lone Star State. A select group of 13 will travel to Austin and Texas’ Mike A. Myers Stadium for the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays, while a larger contingent of 30 will travel to San Marcos for Texas State’s Bobcat Invitational. Both meets will see competition for the Roadrunners from Thursday, March 27 through Saturday, March 29.
An elite national-level event, the 97th Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays will pit UTSA’s elite student-athletes against a wide array of competition from the collegiate and professional ranks, beginning Thursday at Myers Stadium. In last year’s meet, All-American freshman Ida Breigan captured third place in the long jump, while Christiaan Le Roux placed second in the men’s long jump and the men’s 4x400m squad won its event. Dennis Phillips was the top collegiate finisher in the 100m and the men’s 4x200m earned second place along with a historic NCAA top-35 all-time finish in the event. Gabriel Binion earned sixth among collegiate triple jumpers as well.
UTSA’s hurdlers will kick off the competition for the Roadrunners on Thursday, with Selma Ims and Kyla Hill taking on the 400m hurdles at 4:30, followed by Hugo Menin, Charlie Staddon and Zane Hodges in the men’s event at 5 p.m. The second day of action will see the 100m hurdles at 10:30 a.m. for the women and the men’s event to follow, while the women’s 4x400m relay of Hill, Fatoumata Kabo, Kiah Dubarry-Gay and Nayanna Dubarry-Gay are set to race at 11:45 a.m. The final event of the day will be long jump and the outdoor 2025 primary event debut for Breigan. The 100m finals start the day on Saturday and the day will wrap for UTSA after the 12 p.m. 4x200m relay with K. Dubarry-Gay, Ims, Thennelle Williams and Breigan.
After starting the overall competition on Wednesday, the Texas Relays is set to host over 4,700 athletes from high school, the collegiate and professional levels. Live Results from Austin can be found here. The meet will be streamed on SEC Network+ on Friday and Saturday, only, during the collegiate portion of the meet.
Just up I-35 in San Marcos at the Bobcat Track & Field Complex, the discus will open competition at 9 a.m. Thursday with Waylon McKenzie and Paul Bouey getting things started. The long jump starts at 1 p.m. for Dahlia Barnes. Running events begin at 12:30 p.m. with Mia Lien and Finn O’Neill in their respective 100m hurdles, followed by Leah Smith in the 100m, and Bella Bickham and O’Neill in the 400m. The back end of the day is distance-loaded with the 800m at 6:30 p.m. for Katie Wise, Gabe Tubbs, AJ Tyler and Victor Charo, followed by Diego Ramirez and OJ Ruiz in the 3,000m steeplechase, then Aubry Ybarra, Estefania Colchado and Emma Wallace in the 5,000m wrap the Roadrunners’ day one. McKenzie and Garrett Stokes will lead off the second day with the hammer throw, along with shot putters Nyaluet Diew and Bouey, ahead of Edlin Laur and Lien in the long jump, Ryan Stillman in the shot put, Abby Barraza, Jadyn Gonzales, Jadelyn Malesich, Itzel Rojo and Brooke Veltman in the women’s 1,500m, then Dominick Landin and Cortlin Salge in the men’s 1,500m to close the second day. On Saturday, Laur, Lien and Madelen Sveinungsen will get things started with the high jump at 10 a.m., while Stokes is in the shot put at 2:30 p.m. and Laur and Sveinungsen conclude the running competitions at 2:35 p.m.
The meet will feature athletes from 80 programs across the nation and numerous track clubs and national teams.

The next competition on the schedule for the Roadrunners is April 11-12 in College Station, Texas, as UTSA travels to Texas A&M’s 44 Farms Team Invitational.
