UTSA will take on TAMUCC on Tuesday and visit Texas State on Wednesday

SAN ANTONIO—The UTSA softball team will face a pair of teams in the middle of the week, first hosting Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a Salute to Educators on Tuesday at 4 p.m., ahead of a road Battle of I-35 against Texas State on Wednesday at 6 p.m.

The Roadrunners (14-16, 2-7 The American) will look to get back to .500 on the year after taking one of three off Wichita State last time out. Redshirt freshman Makayla Madrid was solid for the squad, drilling a pair of home runs and posting a team-high six RBIs for an OPS of 1.743. Junior Katia Reyes and freshman Skylar Rucker also impressed, with Reyes posting a .667 batting average and plating five, while Rucker hit .571.

The Islanders (9-20, 3-6 Southland) picked up a pair of victories over Houston Christian on the weekend and got the better of UTSA, 7-2, in the squad's previous meeting. Despite the result, Reyes knocked in both of the Roadrunner RBIs and went 2-for-3, and senior Camryn Robillard joined her in logging multiple hits.

TAMUCC ranks fifth nationally, turning 20 double plays in the year, and they're also 10th in sacrifice bunts with 29. Crystal Davila leads the team with a .273 batting average, and her three home runs tie Paolina Baez for the team lead. Baez has driven in 20 runs, and Davila and Mimi Thornton have nine RBIs. In the circle, Kendra Winfrey and Malia Williams boast four wins, and the staff holds an ERA of 6.52.

The Bobcats (20-9, 4-2 Sun Belt) secured a lone victory over Coastal Carolina in their last series and will look to defend a stellar 17-3 record at the Bobcat Softball Stadium.

Maddy Azua has been a crucial component in the team's success, with 10 victories and a 0.87 WHIP that's 16th in the NCAA. Not far behind, Emma Strood has nine wins on the campaign and, like Azua, holds an ERA under 3.00. At the plate, Aiyana Coleman tops the squad with a .391 batting average and a 1.393 OPS, launching 10 home runs and working 27 RBIs.
