SAN ANTONIO— UTSA picks up its tenth straight win, defeating Youngstown State 13-2 on Sunday, Mar. 2 at Roadrunner Field in San Antonio, Texas in seven innings. UTSA is now 10-0 at home after its 10-game homestand.

Left-handed pitcher Conor Myles earned the start in today’s series finale. Myles gave up his first run of the season in the first innings as Youngstown State homered to take a 1-0 lead.
The Roadrunners quickly took the lead at the bottom of the first scoring six runs. Youngstown State’s pitcher gave the first three Roadrunners free bags to load the bases. James Taussig was the next man up, he was hit by the pitch, allowing Caden Miller to score, tying the ballgame.
Andrew Detlefsen was the first Roadrunner to get a hit as he singled down the left field line scoring both Mason Lytle and Norris McClure to give UTSA a 3-1 lead. Ty Hodge was hit by the pitch to load the bases for Jordan Ballin who was also hit by the pitch allowing the Roadrunners to go up three runs.
Nathan Hodge hit into a double play with bases loaded allowing Detlefsen to score the Roadrunners fifth run of the inning. Catcher Broc Parmer singled to center field to score T. Hodge putting UTSA up 6-1 at the end of the first.
Youngstown State hit another solo home run for their second run of the game in the top of the second.
In the third inning UTSA was able to score three more runs. Ballin led the inning off with a hit by pitch and was advanced to second on a single to left center hit by N. Hodge. Parmer then bunted advancing both runners into scoring position. A wild pitch by YSU’s pitcher allowed Ballin to score and N. Hodge to advance to third.
Lytle was the next batter up as he managed to single up the middle, scoring N. Hodge and advancing Miller who reached on a walk. Miller was able to score the Roadrunners’ third run of the inning and ninth run of the game on a fielding error by Youngstown State’s first baseman.
In the fourth, UTSA opened the inning with back-to-back singles and a walk to load the bases once again. Parmer managed to score both Ballin and T. Hodge on a throwing error committed by the second baseman.
With runners on third and second, Miller was able to score N. Hodge as the first baseman made a fielding error. With Parmer on third, Lytle hit a sacrifice fly to the centerfielder that scored Parmer, this was Lytle’s second RBI of the game.
Myles came out of the game after throwing five innings, he finished with five innings pitched, giving up two runs on three hits and one walk with eight strikeouts. Jake Cothran came into relief for Myles in the sixth and sat down the three batters he saw. To close the game out, Connor Kelley came into the game in the seventh and sat down the three batters he faced notching two strikeouts.
