SAN ANTONIO—The UTSA softball team is set to take on Memphis, with a three-game American Athletic Conference series on the docket at the Tiger Softball Complex. Due to inclement weather, The Roadrunners (12-11, 0-3 The American) and Tigers (12-14, 1-2 The American) will now meet twice on Friday at noon, ahead of the series finale Saturday at 3 p.m.
UTSA will look to snap a four-game skid, suffering a trio of losses against East Carolina before falling to UT Arlington, 5-3, in a midweek bout. Freshman Skylar Rucker and senior Jaylen Prichard provided bright spots in the contest, as Rucker went 2-for-3 and Prichard plated a run on a triple.
Memphis has already won six more games than they did last season, and took a game off Tulsa via the run rule last week. They suffered an 8-5 defeat at the hands of North Alabama on Wednesday.
The Tigers are led by Kennedy Semien at the plate, who maintains a .392 batting average with eight doubles and 16 RBIs on the year. Zoe Adebayo, meanwhile, hits .366 with 24 RBIs and a team-high five home runs this year.
In the circle, the squad holds a 4.30 ERA, with Rylee Dugar pacing the squad at 3.60. She and Taniyah Brown are tied with four wins, and Lyrical Bennet is not far behind boasting three.
