UTSA will face TAMUCC at Chapman Field at 3 p.m.

SAN ANTONIO— The UTSA softball team is set for a midweek bout against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, as the squads are set to meet at 3 p.m., Wednesday inside the confines of Chapman Field in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The Roadrunners (9-4) are hot off the Roadrunner Classic, where they bested Michigan State and St. Thomas before falling to Sam Houston on the final day.

Freshman Kaylie Olivarez picked up some hardware thanks to her strong performance at the tournament with a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA, landing her American Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week honors. Classmate Skylar Rucker, meanwhile, led the way at the plate, boasting a .429 batting average with three hits, two walks, and an RBI.

The Islanders (4-10) will look to get back in the win column after dropping their last six, including losses to Maine, Notre Dame, Lipscomb and South Alabama as a part of the Mardi Gras Classic.

Skylar Heger tops the team with a .290 average, as she, Crystal Davila and Paolina Baez have each launched home runs on the season.

The pitching staff boasts a 7.87 ERA, with Holly Ayala topping the squad at 4.56. Malia Williams has posted a squad-high three wins, and Kendra Winfrey joins her with a victory.
