SAN ANTONIO — UTSA dropped a 4-2 decision to Wichita State on Sunday afternoon at the UTSA Tennis Center.
The Roadrunners (3-5) claimed an early lead after securing the doubles point. Miguel Alonso and Santiago Flyckt paired up for a 6-2 victory at No. 3 before Oskar Grzegorzewski and Ben Chetewy Ungar clinched the 1-0 advantage with a 6-4 decision at the top of the lineup.
In singles, Enzo Vargas pushed UTSA’s lead to 2-0 with a quick 6-1, 6-3 triumph over Zaid Al Mashni at No. 6.
The Shockers (4-5) got on the board when Amir Milushev scored a 6-2, 6-2 sweep of Flyckt on court five.
WSU then knotted things at 2-all with a 7-5, 6-3 victory by Vanja Hodzic over Ungar at No. 3.
The visitors took a 3-2 lead after Ilias Worthington edged Alonso at No. 4, 6-4, 7-6 (8) before clinching the match at No. 2, as Alejandro Jacome outlasted Danijal Muminovic in three sets, 5-7, 6-3, 6-1.
