Senior Season - Fall (2024-25)
Ranked 120th in the fall preseason singles rankings, was ranked 60th in doubles in the fall and opened the spring season at 53rd in the ITA doubles standings with partner Miguel Alonso … reached the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Texas Regional semifinal in the fall playing doubles with Alonso … Torres and Alonso also advanced to the doubles quarterfinal at the inaugural AAC Individual Championships … opened the fall season with five straight wins over power-program players, closing up with a 6-3 fall singles record and 6-3 fall doubles record.
Junior Season (2023-24)
Aided UTSA to its fourth consecutive 10-win season and a season-high No. 69 ranking … Initially ranked in the fall at 44th on the ITA doubles standings alongside Alan Magadan … finished with a 10-7 singles record, going 10-3 on court two – winning six of his final eight matches, including a four-match win streak … was 5-8 in doubles play with a 1-1 record against nationally ranked opponents … earned a 15-10 overall singles record on the academic year … selected as American Athletic Conference Player of the Week on April 2 for his efforts in helping UTSA to sweep No. 62 Oregon … also helped UTSA to a ranked victory over No. 60 Utah State … in summer 2024, he represented Portugal on the international stage in both doubles and singles at the World University Games in Chengdu, China.
Sophomore Season (2022-23)
Helped the Roadrunners to their highest ranking in program history (No. 34) and a final ranking of 44th in his second season at UTSA, residing in the ITA top 50 for 12 consecutive weeks … UTSA registered its best record since 1985 (18-7) and the program’s first NCAA at-large bid after finishing as the Conference USA runner-up … named All-Conference UTSA First Team singles … in spring doubles, recorded an 11-9 mark overall and 9-7 mark with partner Alan Magadan … ranked as high as 96th in ITA singles national rankings and finished with an 8-11 record, including a ranked victory over the 88th-ranked player from VCU and helping UTSA to ranked team wins over No. 49 Texas A&M, No. 54 Old Dominion, No. 28 VCU, No. 71 Rice and No. 59 Florida Atlantic … selected as Conference USA Player of the Week on March 22 for his efforts that helped a 3-0 UTSA week against Gonzaga, at Georgia State and at Charlotte – notching a 5-1 singles/doubles record across the week.
Freshman Season (2021-22)
Led the team in victories with a 17-4 singles record across the top four courts in the spring, going 9-11 in doubles … earned Conference USA Second Team singles honors … named Conference USA Player of the Week on April 6 for his doubles efforts against No. 62 Old Dominion, William & Mary and No. 39 VCU.
Prior to UTSA
A graduate of Escola Selecta Amadeu Andrés, was a three-time Portugal National Champion in doubles and won national Portuguese Masters under 16 … before coming to UTSA, highest career highest ATP ranking was 1918 in the world in singles, and 1607 in doubles … his highest UTR rating before college was 13.2 … was the top section player in under 16 and under 18, as well as the Portugal No. 1 … reached as high as 200 in ITF junior rankings … defeated the No. 200 world-ranked player … participated in 2017 Junior Olympics.
