UTSA drops tennis opener at No. 14 Texas A&M

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The UTSA men’s tennis team (0-1) opened up the season on the road at No. 14 Texas A&M (1-0) on Saturday afternoon at the Aggies’ George P. Mitchell '40 Tennis Center. The Aggies separated themselves early and held up a 6-1 win over the Roadrunners in the first match of the Sasha Gozun UTSA era.

Texas A&M put the first point on the board with a 2-0 doubles win, claiming courts two and three, while No. 60 Tiago Torres and Miguel Alonso battled 48th-ranked Luke Casper and Togan Tokac to a 4-4 unfinished match on the top flight.

In singles play, first-year Roadrunner Oskar Grzegorzewski notched UTSA’s lone win on a 7-6(4), 6-4, [10-7] victory over Giulio Perego on court four.
