TEMPE, Ariz. – UTSA men’s tennis senior Tiago Torres earned a spot among the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) 2024 Preseason Rankings, appearing at No. 120 among NCAA Division I singles players headed into the fall.
Heading into the first fall season under newly hired UTSA coach Sasha Gozun, this is the first preseason ranking for Torres in singles. In fall 2023, he was ranked 44th among doubles pairs in tandem with now-graduated partner Alan Magadan. Originally from Lisbon, Portugal, Torres represented his home country in both doubles and singles at the 2023 FISU World University Games in Chengdu, China. Torres helped the 2023 Roadrunners to a No. 42 final team ranking and was named All-Conference USA First Team Singles – earning second team CUSA honors in 2022.
Across his three campaigns as a Roadrunner, Torres has accumulated a 35-22 dual singles record.
