SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA baseball team was walked off by No. 3 Texas A&M, 6-5, in a heartbreaker on Tuesday night at Blue Bell Park in College Station, Texas.

· Alexander Olivo led the team with a 2-for-3 day at the plate with two RBI, a walk and a hit by pitch.
· Starting pitcher Fischer Kingsbery kept the Aggies scoreless through the first two frames, while striking out three batters.

BREAKDOWN OF THE GAME
The first inning went scoreless as the Roadrunners got one on base but didn’t score on the opportunity. In the bottom of the frame, Kingsbery battled through a bases-loaded jam and won the battle to put a zero on the board.
UTSA put together a big inning in the top of the second, scoring four runs on two hits and two errors. After both Parmer and Taussig earned back-to-back walks on 3-2 pitch counts, Lorenzo Morresi then laid down a bunt and reached on an error while driving in the first run. Next, a single by Hector Rodriguez drove in two more runs in the next at-bat. A few batters later, a single through the right side by Olivo drove in the fourth run of the game to give UTSA a 4-0 lead.
In the bottom of the frame, Kingsbery again found himself in a bases-loaded jam with one out. He got out of it unscathed with an infield fly and fielder’s choice. The Aggies got on the board with a solo home run in the bottom of the third.
The Roadrunners added another run to their lead in the fourth frame. Zane Spinn was hit by pitch before advancing to third on a sacrifice bunt and a flyout. Then, Olivo hit a single to shortstop to drive in Spinn and extend UTSA’s lead to 5-1. On the mound in the bottom of the frame, Owens forced a scoreless inning while picking up one strikeout.
Texas A&M made it a one-run game (5-4) in the bottom of the fifth inning as a two-run home run and RBI single put three on the board for the Aggies.
The sixth and seventh innings saw a few more zeros on the board. Ruger Riojas pitched those two innings, keeping Texas A&M to just one hit and striking out one batter.
The Aggies tied up the game at 5-5 in the bottom of the eighth as they took advantage of a leadoff walk and the second batter tripled to get the run in. The Roadrunners’ offense was shut down from the fifth inning on. Texas A&M hit a solo home run in the bottom of the ninth as UTSA fell to the Aggies by 6-5 in a walk-off heartbreaker.

The Roadrunners travel to Memphis, Tennessee, for a three-game conference series against the Tigers this Friday through Sunday.
