LAKE CHARLES, La. – The UTSA men’s tennis team opened fall competition over the weekend in The Pelican State at the Lake Charles Invitational, a hidden dual format at the Lake Charles Racquet Club.
Hosted by the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns, this weekend’s event that spanned Friday-Sunday in Lake Charles pitted the Roadrunners against pairs and singles from Louisiana, Southern Miss, LSU and South Alabama.

"Not what I was expecting to see from our performance. Expectations were high going into this competition. Some guys struggled mentally. At the end, we got many matches and it was a good wake up call for the team."

A select group of Roadrunners will head to Oklahoma next weekend, traveling to the ITA Men’s All-American Championships in Tulsa; September 30-October 8, 2023. The event will be held at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center on the campus of the University of Tulsa and Case Tennis Center at Tulsa’s LaFortune Park.
