Hallmark announces 11 Roadrunners to join in 2024

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA baseball team announced 11 Roadrunners to join the team in 2023-24, announced head coach Pat Hallmark.
 
Colin Carrejo  OF • 6'4 • Georgetown, Texas • Rouse High School
Carrejo is a two-time first-team all-district honoree from Rouse High School in Leander, Texas, where he has played varsity baseball the past three years. On top of baseball, he is also part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) organization. His mother, Amanda, played volleyball at UTSA, while his father, Kevin, played baseball for the Roadrunners. He plans to study kinesiology to become a physical therapist. 
 
Diego Diaz • SS/OF • 5'9 • Mission, Texas • Sharyland High School
Diaz is a three-year standout from Sharyland High School in Mission, Texas. At Sharyland, he has played three years of baseball and one year of football. As a sophomore, he was named First Team All-District as a utility player. He earned team MVP and District Offensive Player of the Year in his junior year. On top of his athletic accomplishments, Diaz earned All-A Honor Roll and Dean's List, while in the National Honor Society (NHS) and History Club. He plans to study business finance. 
 
Hank Howard • UTIL • 6'4 • Austin, Texas • Vista Ridge High School
Howard is set to join the Roadrunners from Vista Ridge High School in Cedar Park, Texas, where he has played three seasons of baseball. As a sophomore, he was named first team as a utility player. He then earned pitcher of the year during his junior season. He earned offensive player of the year during both his sophomore and junior seasons. Howard also played varsity basketball during his sophomore and junior years. He is part of the National Honor Society organization at Vista Ridge. He plans to study business or construction management. 
 
Ryan Jester • P • 6'1 • Bulverde, Texas • Bracken Christian School
Jester is a two-time state finalist from Bracken Christian School, where he has played four years of baseball. He has helped lead his team to two state finals – in 2020-21 and 2021-22. He was named First Team All-State Team and All-State Tournament Team in 2020-21. He also earned First Team All-State in 2021-22. Jester also played two years of football and one year of basketball. Jester is also in the National Honor Society. He plans to study statistics. 
 
Barrett Johnson • INF • 5'10 • San Antonio, Texas • Johnson High School
Johnson joins UTSA after three years of varsity baseball at Johnson High School in San Antonio, Texas. As a sophomore, he earned Second Team All-District in the outfield. He was named First Team All-District unanimously in his junior year. He helped lead the Jaguars to the second round of playoffs during his sophomore and junior years. His father, Patrick, played tennis at Temple Junior College. He plans to study business management. 
 
Whitt Joyce • C • 6'0 • Lytle, Texas • Medina Valley High School
Joyce is a three-year starter from Medina Valley High School in Castroville, Texas. As a sophomore, he won district newcomer of the year honors. He then was named First Team All-District as a catcher in his junior season. Joyce and his Panthers won the title of bi-district champions during his sophomore year. He helped lead his team to the playoffs once again during his junior year. He also ran a year of varsity track during his senior year. He plans to study business. 
 
Lucas Moore • P • 6'2 • Katy, Texas • Katy High School
Moore has played two years of baseball at Katy High School, helping lead the Tigers to the fourth round of playoffs in 2022. He was named the 19-6A First Team All-District and 6A Third Team All-State. Moore also joined National Honor Society in his junior year, after maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He plans to study mechanical engineering. 
 
Lorenzo Morresi • UTIL • 5'9 • Macerata, Italy • ITE A. Gentili/New Mexico JC
Morresi is set to join the Roadrunners after two years at New Mexico Junior College. In 2022, he had a .341 batting average in his first season for the Thunderbirds. Born in Macerata, Italy, Morresi represented Team Italy in the Haarlem Baseball Week in the Netherlands last year. He plans to get his business degree.
 
Conor Myles • P/OF • 6'4 • Melbourne, Australia • St. Joseph's/Odessa College
Myles will join UTSA after spending two seasons at Odessa College. In 2022, he had a .331 batting average, five home runs and a .522 slugging percentage for the Wranglers. Originally from Melbourne, Australia, he went to St. Joseph's. His father, Simon, played for the Kenosha Kings. Myles plans to study kinesiology. 
 
Robert Orloski • P • 6'2 • Middleton, Idaho • Middleton High School
Orloski hails from Middleton High School in Middleton, Idaho. During his sophomore year, he earned honorable mention all-district honors as a utility player. He was then named both the Southern Idaho Conference (SIC) and State Player of the Year during his junior year. Having a breakout junior season on the mound, Orloski helped lead the Vikings to the conference championship and earned third in state. His relative, Joe Orloski, played in the Blue Jays organization. He plans to study kinesiology.
 
Tanner Sever • INF • 6'1 • Highland Village, Texas • Coppell High School
Coming from Coppell High School in Coppell, Texas, Sever spent four years on the varsity baseball team there. He earned the starting shortstop spot as a freshman. As a sophomore, he led the Cowboys to second in district and the fourth round of playoffs. Sever then helped his team to district champions and the fourth round of playoffs as a junior. He was named second team all-district in his sophomore year and honorable mention in his junior year.
