Trio of goals leads UTSA to exhibition win over Texas State

SAN ANTONIO – Goals from Kendall Kloza (3'), Abby Kassal (20') and Sarina Russ ('72) paced UTSA, as the soccer program dropped Texas State 3-2 in Saturday's exhibition contest.

UTSA struck early, as in the third minute Kloza netted a goal following a Lexi Bolton cross from the corner. Later in the first session, the Roadrunners struck again as Kassal, a redshirt senior, put UTSA up two thanks to a nice pass from Alissa Stewart.

The Bobcats cut the Roadrunners' lead in half in the 44th minute, as Mallory Henderson netted a goal from 20 yards out. After roughly 30 minutes of competitive, scoreless action, Russ put UTSA back up two as Kiran Singh found her in front of the net.

Texas State made things interesting late, as Mya Ulloa scored in the 87th minute of play. The Bobcats threatened twice in the final three minutes, but UTSA was able to hold serve and took the exhibition.
