SAN ANTONIO- The UTSA men's tennis team fell to Rice on Saturday morning at the UTSA Tennis Center, 4-2.
"Rice played well today." UTSA head coach Sergey Avedeyv said. "They outcompeted us. We won 5 first sets, but they came back strong. Mentally, we could not get back in the third sets."
C-USA player of the week, Tiago Torres (Lisbon, Portugal) gained his 15th singles win of the season, defeating Sumit Sarkar on court 2. Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile) earned his fifth singles win of the season as he dominated on court 4 against Campbel Salmon, 6-3, 6-0.
Up next, the Roadrunners hit the road to Beaumont next week to face Lamar at 11 a.m.
