DALLAS — A department-record 66 UTSA student-athletes have received the 2021-22 Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Medal, Commissioner Judy MacLeod announced Friday.
"It's not easy balancing a full academic course load with the daily demands of being a student-athlete," UTSA Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Lisa Campos said. "This group of 66 has so much to be proud of for doing that while maintaining a 3.75-plus GPA."
This comes one day after UTSA broke a department record with 277 student-athletes named to the C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll.
"It's an amazing achievement to break the department record for the number of student-athletes honored on both the commissioner's honor roll and academic medal list in the same year," Campos said. "We are thrilled for the recognition they have received. It is well deserved."
A total of 1,171 student-athletes earned the 2021-22 C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal, which is given to conference student-athletes who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.
