UTSA Baseball announces pair of summer camps

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA baseball will host a pair of summer camps for youth ages 7-13 at Roadrunner Field, it was announced by second-year head coach Pat Hallmark
 
UTSA will host a camp June 28-July 1 for youth ages 7-13, which will run from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. each day at Roadrunner Field. The camp will be limited to 50 athletes and is $200. 
 
The second camp of the summer, July 19-22 is titled Boys of Summer – Under the Bright Lights. It will run from 5:30 p.m. – 9 p.m. at Roadrunner Field for ages 7-13. The camp is $250 and is limited to 50 athletes. Campers will be broken into age appropriate teams and put in a competitive format, featuring teaching segments on the technical work in hitting, pitching, defense and situational aspects of the game. Athletes will learn drills that teach the speed of the game and encourage a focus on fundamentals that define all winning teams.

UTSA is under the direction of Hallmark, who is in his second year leading the Roadrunners after building UIW into a Southland contender and following decorated seasons as assistant coach at Rice and Missouri. The 2019 Southland Conference Coach of the Year at UIW, Hallmark spent 10 seasons on the staff of legendary coach Wayne Graham at Rice, where he also had an all-conference career as a catcher. 
He is assisted by Ryan Aguayo, a former collegiate standout and veteran of Hallmark's staff at UIW, and pitching coach Zach Butler, who spent the last eight years at Nicholls State as an assistant coach. Jordan Lucks joined the Hallmark coaching staff as an assistant for the 2021 season after serving as the offensive and recruiting coordinator at Parkland College [Ill.] in 2020, following two years on the staff at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
