SAN ANTONIO – UTSA baseball will host a trio of camps in December and January at Roadrunner Field.
The Roadrunners will host a pair of youth camps, for boys in first – eighth grade on Dec. 20-22 and Dec. 27-29, with the cost slated for $200.
UTSA will also host a High School Prospect Camp on Jan. 17 at Roadrunner Field, with pitchers costing $175, position and two-way players costing $225.
UTSA is coached by third-year head coach Pat Hallmark, a native of Houston and former star catcher at Rice. Hallmark took over the Roadrunners in 2020 after two seasons transforming the UIW program into a contender in the Southland Conference, where he was named the coach of the year in 2019.
Hallmark is assisted by Ryan Aguayo, a former star at New Mexico State, where he was a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Award, given to the nation's top shortstop, and pitching coach Zach Butler, who joined the Roadrunners after eight years directing the pitching staff at Nicholls State. UTSA has also added Alan Sailors as its latest assistant coach, with Sailors – a former standout collegiate catcher – coming to San Antonio after working on the staff at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi from 2018-21.
The Roadrunners are coming off a season that saw UTSA rank as one of the top offensive units in college baseball, ranking ninth in runs per game, 18th in average, 19th in slugging and 21st in on-base percentage.
