SAN ANTONIO – Former UTSA women's basketball player Timea Toth has signed a contract with TFSE-MTK, a professional club in home country of Hungary.
TFSE-MTK is the first league team in Budapest and is made up of mostly Hungarian players, along with two Americans and a Serbian. Last season they finished sixth in the league.
"I always wanted to be a professional basketball player," Toth said. "It's my time now. I am ready to work hard and happy to play front of the people who have been watching me play basketball since I was a little girl."
Toth finished her career with 285 points, 120 assists, 87 blocks and 98 steals in her four years in San Antonio. Her name is in the UTSA record books for multiple categories, including 20th in rebounds with 441, tied for sixth in games played with 116 and sixth in blocks. She started 64 games while wearing the Roadrunner jersey.
"We are very proud of Timea that she has landed an opportunity to play professional basketball," head coach Kristen Holt said. "This was a goal of Timea's from the moment she arrived at UTSA."
