LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 18 Texas Tech posted a 4-0 win over UTSA men's tennis on Sunday night at the McLeod Tennis Center.
UTSA (4-5) fell in its third match of the week, as Texas Tech (12-4) posted win in doubles and clinched the match with points on the second, fourth and sixth courts.
The Roadrunners lost in the doubles point as Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) and Javier Gonzalez (San Fernando, Chile) fell on court two, 6-1, and Joao Ceolin (Palotina, Brazil) and Patrick Poestinger (Ennsdorf, Austria) lost on court three, 6-3.
The Red Raiders claimed singles points with a win from No. 74 Ilgiz Valiev, 6-4, 6-0 over Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) and No. 123 Reed Collier over Gonzalez, 6-4, 6-3. Connor Johnson topped Alan Sanson (Santiago, Chile), 6-3, 6-4.
In singles, UTSA's Kai Bretibach (Kaarst, Germany) and Javier Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) and Reckow did not finish their matches.
The Roadrunners will travel to Las Vegas on Saturday and Sunday, facing Loyola Marymount on Saturday and UNLV on Sunday.
