Middle Tennessee defeats Roadrunners

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Adryana Quezada scored 15 points as the UTSA women's basketball was upended by Middle Tennessee, 69-48 Saturday evening.  
 
The Roadrunners (6-14, 2-7 C-USA) opened the game strong outscoring the Lady Raiders (15-7, 7-3 C-USA) 16-12 in the first quarter. Adryana Quezada put the first points on the board with a 3-pointer a minute into the game. UTSA recorded seven points before Middle Tennessee scored with 6:46 remaining (7-2). A 3-pointer from the Lady Raiders brought them within two (7-5), then they tied the game at seven with 5:13 on the clock. Shannan Mitchell hit a 3-pointer to regain the lead. In the final four minutes, the Roadrunners hit a 6-5 run to keep the lead (16-12) at the end of the first.
 
In the second quarter, Middle Tennessee tied the game minute in (16-16). The Roadrunners scored four more points before the Lady Raiders tied the game once again. Middle Tennessee hit a 24-4 run for over seven minutes of the quarter to take the lead and hold onto it going to the half (37-24).
 
Coming out of the locker room, Middle Tennessee outscored UTSA by just three points in the third (17-14). Adryana Quezada scored eight points in the quarter to help the Roadrunners, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Raiders held them off going to the final frame. In the fourth, Middle Tennessee continued to find the basket and take the victory.
