Men’s Tennis takes on Portland in Dallas on Sunday

SAN ANTONIO – The UTSA men's tennis team will continue a four-match road swing to open the 2020 season under Coach Sergey Avdeyev, traveling to Dallas to take on Portland at SMU on Sunday.

The Roadrunners opened the 2020 season, and the Avdeyev era, at UC Davis last Saturday and were canceled on Sunday at Pacific.

UTSA's 5-2 loss at UC Davis saw senior Juri Reckow (Hamburg, Germany) earn a singles point. He teamed with Sebastian Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru), and Kai Breitbach (Kaarst, Germany) and Javier Rodriguez (Trujillo, Peru) to earn the doubles point.

UTSA also competed sophomore Alan Sanson (Santiago, Chile) in both doubles and singles. Senior Patrick Poestinger (Ennsdorf, Austria) – ranked No. 83 in singles by the ITA – did not compete on Saturday at UC Davis.

UTSA will continue its road swing on Feb. 9 at Louisiana-Lafayette, before opening the home slate with UIW on Feb. 19 at the UTSA Tennis Center.
