Patrick Poestinger earns ITA national ranking

SAN ANTONIO – UTSA men's tennis senior Patrick Poestinger has earned a No. 83 national ranking in singles by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, it was announced on Wednesday.

Poestinger, a native of Ennsdorf, Austria, earned the first ranking of his collegiate career in the final fall listing by the ITA. He joins fellow Conference USA singles competitors, Chris Edge (76th; Middle Tennessee) and Luca Maldoner (93rd; Old Dominion) in the top 100 rankings.

It marks the second straight season the Roadrunners have had a player ranked by the ITA in singles, as current senior Kai Breitbach (Kaarst, Germany) earned the honor last year.

The Roadrunners announced the hire of new head coach Sergey Avdeyev on Nov. 1, with Avdeyev taking over the program after a decorated career as the associate head coach at Old Dominion and a strong playing career at Oklahoma.
