AUSTIN — The UTSA men's 4x800-meter relay finished sixth in the program's only event on Saturday at the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The quartet of Zack Kovar, Luca Chatham, Cameron Hudson and Monty Bertschy passed the baton to a time of 7:44.67 to cross sixth in the race won by Texas A&M in 7:23.78.
The relay was highlighted by a 1:52.09 split by Chatham, a senior from Dallas, on the second leg after Kovar, a sophomore out of Dripping Springs, led off with a 1:55.66 effort.
The same foursome finished 15th in the distance medley relay with a 10:22.98 clocking Friday evening.
In other Friday action at the 92nd running of the Texas Relays, Danielle Spence placed ninth among collegiate competitors in the women's triple jump with a 13.01m (42-8 ¼) measurement, while Andre Douglas was sixth among collegians in the B section of the men's triple jump with a mark of 15.09m (49-6 ¼). Davante Edwards cleared a season-best height of 2.04m (6-8 ¼) to finish 11th in the B section of the men's high jump, while Orla Brothers was 14th in the women's 400m hurdles prelims with a 1:01.02 clocking on Thursday
The Roadrunners are scheduled to return to action next Friday-Saturday, April 5-6, at the Carl Knight Invitational in Nacogdoches, Texas.
