SAN ANTONIO — Fresh off hosting back-to-back home meets to start the outdoor season, the UTSA track & field teams will make the short trek north up I-35 to Austin for the Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays this Thursday-Saturday, March 28-30, at Mike A. Myers Stadium.
The Roadrunners will send a partial squad to the Forty Acres for the 92nd running of the annual meet.
On Thursday, the 400-meter hurdles crew of Sierra Andres, Orla Brothers, Justin Gerbrecht and Andrew Pirog will get competition started for UTSA at 4:30 p.m. (women's race) and 5 p.m. (men's race).
On Friday morning, Devall Harris and Patrick Prince are slated to run in the prelims of the men's 110m hurdles and the men's and women's 4x400m relay teams also will be in action. The men's distance medley relay team will race at 6:05 p.m.
In Friday afternoon field events, Andre Douglas will compete in the men's triple jump at 12:30 p.m., Davante Edwards is set for the men's high jump at 1 p.m. and Danielle Spence will represent the women in the triple jump at 3 p.m.
The men's 4x800m relay squad is scheduled to run at 10:40 a.m. Saturday and the men's and women's 4x400m relays will close out the meet beginning at 4:05 p.m.
UTSA won three events at last week's Roadrunner Invitational in San Antonio. Spence recorded the longest women's outdoor triple jump in school and Park West Athletics Complex history when the sophomore from Jamaica skipped to a mark of 13.36 meters (43-10) to win the event and earn Conference USA Co-Field Athlete of the Week honors. Brothers crossed first in the women's 400m hurdles with a 1:00.44 clocking, while Jake McDaniel scored 6,648 points to take top honors in the men's decathlon.
